    Comox Valley Art Gallery (CVAG)
    The Comox Valley Art Gallery is a regional public contemporary visual art and craft gallery featuring up to eight exhibitions per year. CVAG seeks to increase the awareness of local, national and international fine art within our community and to act as an educational organization for the arts. CVAG operates a Gallery Shop retailing local and Vancouver Island fine crafts. The Gallery is governed by a non profit society supported by federal, provincial, local government and private sector funding, fundraising, and membership. The Public Art Gallery, serving the community since 1974, offers quality exhibitions and educational programming of contemporary and experimental art.
    The Gallery is open Tuesday - Saturday from 10am - 5pm.
    It is located at 580 Duncan Avenue in downtown Courtenay.

    The Courtenay Little Theatre Society
    Registered charity, stages theatrical performances, conducts workshops and participates in community activities related to performance. It is a member of Theatre BC, and is actively involved in the North Island Zone Festival each spring. The Society is open to anyone who wants to become a part of community theatre. Acting, set design, costumes, makeup, public relations, lighting, and sound are just some of the areas you can become involved in. The theatre group meets every third Tuesday at 7:30pm at 1625-B McPhee in Courtenay.

    Courtenay Youth Music Centre
    Provides for musical improvement and advancement and promotes musical instruction and education in disciplines including jazz, musical theatre, piano, chamber music, harp, classical guitar, concert band, percussion, string orchestra, and opera workshop. CYMC maintains an open admissions policy for all musicians of all ages and abilities, and provides the highest caliber of practicing professional musicians and performers. We wish to provide education and performance opportunities specifically to further the efforts of those individuals wishing to pursue a professional career in the arts.

    Exploration Art Camp

    Federation of Canadian Artists
    The Comox Valley Chapter has about 35 members and enthusiastically pursues the Federation goals of promoting "the passion and pleasure of the visual arts through education, exhibition and communication". The Chapter meets twice a month to enjoy lectures, discussions, demos and share group painting experiences. They have group shows in local galleries, as well as access to FCA sponsored workshops.     The Filberg Heritage Lodge, home of the late R.J. Filberg, is located on nine beautifully landscaped acres, on the shore of Comox Bay in Comox, BC. The annual Filberg Festival noted as the finest arts & craft festival in the region attracts visitors from far and wide. The Filberg Festival is a very successful annual event that takes place on the August long weekend and includes a first class juried craft fair, eclectic music and yummy food. The Filberg Festival is the main fundraiser for the care and maintenance of the beautiful Filberg Lodge and Park.

    Georgia Straight Jazz Society
    A group of jazz musicians from Vancouver Island, BC combining talents and energy to: Increase public awareness of and to nurture an appreciation for all forms of jazz; Present performances by a wide variety of musicians representing all forms of jazz; Stimulate the local jazz communities by producing events and activities in which artists can interact creatively; Provide opportunities for school aged musicians to create jazz for a public audience; Augment the educational instruction of school aged musicians in jazz performance, improvisation, and composition; and Establish and strengthen the jazz music community on Vancouver Island.     Hornby Island Festival Society
    Since its inception in 1985, the Hornby Festival Society has earned a national reputation for artistic excellence and adventurous programming. Many of Canada's foremost artists have performed here including Gratien Gellnas, Jane Coop, Loreena McKennitt, Maureen Forrester, Peggy Baker, Richard Margison, the St. Lawrence String Quartet, Andra Lapiante and Rick Mercer. This annual nine-day Festival presents twelve to sixteen concerts early in August.     North Island Festival of Performing Arts
    A huge annual festival for emerging performing artists from all over the North Island, in many disciplines. This event usually takes place over three weeks in February and March.

    North Island Highland Dancers Association
    This non-profit organization is dedicated to promoting Highland dancing as established by Scotdance B.C. Our memberships include dancers from Port Hardy to Royston and including Powell River. A council elected every year governs its 78 members. The two annual competitions held in March are in Campbell River and Courtenay. NIHDA dancers participate in the Highland Games competition held annually in May. An Annual General Meeting is held in November for all interested to attend.

    Trickster's Children Theatre Society
    Trickster's Children Theatre, also performing as Kulus Theatre Group, originated as a youth employment project sponsored by Wachiay Friendship Centre in Courtenay. At the conclusion of the project, a non-profit society dedicated to creating theatre about environmental and social issues was formed.
